Oracle error
ORA-00257
ORA-00257: Archiver error. Connect AS SYSDBA only until resolved.
What usually causes it
The archiver can't write the next archived log, almost always because the Fast Recovery Area or archive destination is full.
What to check first
Back up and delete archived logs through RMAN, never with rm, so the control file stays accurate. If the disk has room, raising DB_RECOVERY_FILE_DEST_SIZE buys time.
