ORA-01017: invalid username/password; logon denied
What usually causes it
Wrong credentials, a case mismatch in the password, the wrong database or PDB, or a missing password file entry for SYSDBA. 23ai prints this as "invalid credential or not authorized".
What to check first
Confirm you reached the intended service. Check the account's status and recent failed logins. For remote SYSDBA connections, check the password file.
